How to Use RDL Baby Face No.3, No.2 and No.1

Using RDL Baby Face astringents the right way will help get the best results. So, how to use RDL Baby Face No.3, No.2 and No.1 astringents properly to get the best results? Before we answer this question, let’s shed some light on what RDL RDL Baby Face is used for.

What is RDL Baby Face Used For?

RDL Baby Face astringents are hydroquinone + tretinoin based products. It comes in 3 (three) variants: RDL Baby Face Hydroquinone Tretinoin No.3, RDL Baby Face Hydroquinone Tretinoin No.2 and RDL Baby Face Melawhite No.1. These variants are used to treat skin conditions such as hyperpigmentation, acne and dark spots. Not only these, but also, they impart brighter, more radiant and youthful skin. The name “Baby Face” comes from the benefit the skin gets after using the RDL astringents as the skin will become like the skin of a baby; smooth, soft and clear.

How to Use RDL Baby Face No.3, No.2 and No.1

RDL Baby Face is 3-step method starting from using the strongest astringent to the lightest. RDL Baby Face Hydroquinone Tretinoin Astringent No.3 is the strongest and RDL Baby Face Melawhite Astringent No.1 is the lightest. The strongest and the lightest refer to the concentration of the active ingredients in the astringents.

STEP 1: For Darker Skin and Severe Skin Conditions

Start with RDL Baby Face Hydroquinone Tretinoin No.3. Follow the below steps for instruction for use.

Instruction For Application

  1. Put an enough amount of RDL Baby Face Hydroquinone Tretinoin No.3 on a cotton. Don’t put much!
  2. Dab the cotton on the affected areas only.
    • Note 1

Dab only on the affected areas. Don’t rub. As rubbing may inflict irritation to some skins.

  3. Leave it on for a minute.
  4. Don’t rinse. Now, you can apply RDL Whitening Cream with Moisturizer if necessary to reverse any adverse reaction.
    • Note 2

Wear RDL Sunblock Cream SPF15 if you will expose to sun to protect your skin while you are under the treatment from harmful sunrays. Re-apply every 2-5 hours depending on sunrays strength and period of exposure.

STEP 2: For Medium to Light Skin Tone and Moderate Skin Conditions

After your skin lightens post RDL Baby Face Hydroquinone Tretinoin No.3, switch to RDL Baby Face Hydroquinone Tretinoin No.2. For those with medium to light skin, they can start with RDL Baby Face Hydroquinone Tretinoin No.2 directly.

Follow the steps mentioned above in STEP 1 for how to apply the astringent.

STEP 3: For Fair Skin and Light Skin Conditions

When you achieve your ideal skin tone post RDL Baby Face Hydroquinone Tretinoin No.3 and No.2, switch to RDL Baby Face Melawhite No.1 for maintenance to maintain the results you have achieved. You can use RDL Baby Face Melawhite No.1 as long as you desire and re-use whenever you think your skin tone needs enhancement. Also, if you have a fair skin tone originally but it got darker due to sun exposure or other factors and you want to recover your skin tone, you can start with RDL Baby Face Melawhite No.1 directly.

For instruction of application, you can follow the steps mentioned above in STEP 1 for how to apply the astringent.

Flag-up

It is noteworthy that it is not necessary to follow the above mentioned 3-step method to get the results you desire. From our experience, there are many users who used RDL Baby Face No.3 only (sometimes more than one bottle) and got the results they dream of. Others prefer RDL Baby Face No.2; so they use only No.2 for their skincare routine. And finally, others opt for RDL Baby Face No.1 directly and incorporate it in their skincare routine.

Important Tips For Using RDL Baby Face Astringents

  • As your skin will be peeling during using RDL Baby Astringents, your skin will tend to be sensitive and easily burns when exposing to sun. Hence, always protect your skin from harsh sunrays by using RDL Sunblock Cream SPF15.
  • Do not rub. We know you saw this statement many times in this article but we just want to stress the importance of not rubbing the astringents against your skin to prevent irritation.
  • Do not use RDL Baby Face Hydroquinone Tretinoin No.3 or No.2 more than 2 (two) months in a row. RDL No.3 and No.2 may incur peeling which makes skin sensitive and thin to reveal the new skin beneath old dead skin cells. Hence, the appropriate way to get the best results is to have downtime after finishing RDL No.3 or No.2 for a month. Then, you can use again. Therefore, if you want to switch between RDL No.3 and No.2, keep a time gap.
  • If your skin peels a lot, you can pause using RDL Baby Face for 3 (three) days. Then, resume when the peeling reduces.
  • If adverse reaction occurs, apply RDL Whitening Cream with Moisturizer to alleviate the adverse reaction. If the reaction persists, stop using and contact a skin care specialist. You can also drop a comment below and we shall assist you.

  2. Hello admin good day!, I am using RDL 3 since Feb 15 2023, and its been a month and I’ve already used and spent all the product as of now, but I still have pimples. What should I do?

    1. I mean this year admin. My skin already got used to it because when applying it there is already no pain sensation in my skin. but my problem is that my pimples is still there after consuming the product for a month

  3. Hello! just wanted to ask, is it normal for blackheads to pop up using rdl no. 3? I am using it for more than 2 weeks and blackheads are popping out on my face and my face is experiencing redness but ever since I started using the product there is a peeling effect until now

  4. Hello! just wanted to ask, is it normal for blackheads to pop up using rdl no. 3? I am using it for more than 2 weeks and blackheads are popping out on my face

  5. Hello and thank you for the detailed review of each solution. But i have a few issues to share and it’s really embarrassing for me. I have light skin tone however my waist and butt cheeks got darker. Idk how i have but as soon as i started noticing them it’s really been a trouble for me. I want to know if i shall use solution number 3 for such specific parts? i am aware that it shouldn’t be used on sensitive areas but like should i use on the surface of my bums? Can you share some ideas on how to fix it as well?

  6. I’ve been using RDL no.3 for a week now, but I haven’t noticed any peeling effect. My skin is showing signs of thinning and redness, and my wrinkles below my eyes are now visible. Should I keep using it or switch it to no. 2 or 1?

    1. Can I used serum in the morning that has Niacinamide? Can also used any moisturizer in the morning?

    2. Hi, it has been two weeks now since I started using RDL no. 3, but my face is still showing redness. I’m wondering if it’s too strong for my skin or if I should use No. 2 instead. There has been no noticeable whitening effect on my face. Yes, I have an oily skin. I am concerned why it isn’t getting my face whitened.

    3. Hello Lynne,

I’m sorry to hear about your concerns regarding the redness and lack of whitening effect with RDL no. 3. It’s important to understand that everyone’s skin reacts differently to skincare products, and what works fast for one person might not work the same way for another. Redness can be a sign of peeling in oily skin which causes peeling to be invisible.
Oily skin can be more prone to irritation, so using a milder formulation might be beneficial. I would recommend discontinuing the use of RDL no. 3 for now and switching to a gentler RDL Babyface Cleanser and RDL Whitening Cream with Moisturizer. You can then use RDL Babyface Solution No. 2

Additionally, it’s important to wear sunscreen daily, especially when using products aimed at skin whitening, as they can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Apply it every morning, even on cloudy days.

    1. Hello Natasha Welch,

If you have been using RDL #2 for almost a month and haven’t experienced any peeling, it’s important to note that individual responses to skincare products can vary. Before switching to RDL #3 or making any changes, it is recommended to:

Evaluate the effectiveness: Assess whether RDL #2 has provided any other positive effects on your skin, such as improved texture or reduced blemishes. If you are satisfied with the results you have seen so far, it may not be necessary to switch to a stronger product.

  12. hi,
i just started using rdl #3,this is the 3rd day and my skin has started peeling I use it with a moisturizer and sunscreen, can I use it every day at night and how long should i continue using it?

    1. Hello lucy idegwu,

Can I use RDL #3 every day at night?

It’s advisable to start by using RDL #3 every other night to allow your skin to adjust. If your skin tolerates it well, you can gradually increase to nightly use.

How long should I continue using it?

The duration of use for RDL #3 depends on your specific skin needs and goals. You can use for a month or two months in a row, then take a rest before using again.
Remember, it’s crucial to closely monitor your skin’s response and adjust your routine accordingly.

  13. Hi I’m light skin and I want to be more whiter, it is best to use RDL No.3? If not what should I use and how many days should I use it before switching to RDL NO.1?

  14. i’ve been using rdl 3 for two 3 dyas now, on the first day of use because i have class, i had to go out but i was carefule and used an umbrella but i could feel the heat. the next day, i notice my skin getting darker. i hope it has nothing to do with me going out and i hope this pigmentation is just a sign im about to peel off. please let me know if it was ok to go out since i used umbrella and please tell me that the darker i got is just an effect of rdl 3 and i will peel off later on this week..

    1. Hello lala,

RDL 3 is a skin lightening product that contains hydroquinone, which is known to reduce the amount of melanin in the skin. It is possible that your darker skin tone is a temporary effect of the product, and that you will experience peeling later in the week.

As for going out with an umbrella, that is generally a good way to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. However, it is still possible to get sun exposure even when using an umbrella. It’s important to use sunscreen such as RDL Sunblock Cream SPF15 25ml and to reapply it frequently (for example, every 2 hours) throughout the day as long as you are outside.

    1. After using rdl #3 how many days should I rest my skin before switching to rdl #1 as my maintenance?

    2. Hello KIM LAWRENCE XAVIER LLAUDERES,

It’s important to give your skin time to adjust and recover after using any skin lightening products, including RDL #3. The amount of time you should wait before switching to RDL #1 as maintenance skincare can vary depending on your individual skin type and sensitivity, as well as how long you have been using RDL #3.

In general, it’s a good idea to take a break from using any skin lightening products for a few days to a week in between switching to a new product. This will allow your skin to fully recover and regenerate before you begin using the new product.

I would recommend waiting at least 3-5 days before switching to RDL #1, and doing a patch test on a small area of skin before using it on larger areas of your body. This will help you to avoid any potential allergic reactions or adverse side effects, and will also give you a chance to assess how your skin reacts to the new product.

  15. How long is the break from rdl 2 switch to rdl 1? and can I use rdl 2 again after I use rdl 1, if that so how long is the break from rdl 1 switch to rdl 2? I really need answers to use it healthy, thank you!:>

  16. I have 3 questions
    1) can I mix rdl 3 with a tonner and use as a tonner
    2) can I use rdl 3 on unexposed sensitive area
    3) can I mix rdl 3 with body lotion and use on unexposed body part

  17. can I use rdl 2 and 1 at the same time? for example, I am only going to dab the rdl 2 to the area where I have active pimples and the rdl 1 to other areas where I didn’t put the rdl 2.

    thank you!

    1. I’m sorry, but it’s not recommended to use Rdl 2 and Rdl 1 at the same time. Rdl 2 is a stronger formulation intended for treating active pimples, while Rdl 1 is milder and can be used for maintenance and prevention of breakouts.

Using both products at the same time may cause irritation, dryness, or other adverse reactions to your skin. It’s best to follow the recommended usage of each product and give your skin time to adjust before switching to a different formula.

If you want to treat active pimples with Rdl 2, you can use it as directed for 60 days and then switch to Rdl 1 for maintenance. If you need to spot-treat individual pimples, you can dab a small amount of Rdl 2 directly onto the affected area, but make sure to avoid using it on larger areas of your skin. You can use RDL Babyface Cleanser 250ml for the rest of your skin.

    1. Hi,
It is generally recommended to apply RDL BABYFACE ASTRINGENT first, allow it to absorb and dry before applying any other products, including moisturizers. This allows the active ingredients in the RDL to penetrate the skin effectively without being diluted or interfered with by other products.
When using products like hydroquinone and tretinoin, it is common for the skin to undergo a peeling process as it adjusts to the treatment. This is a normal part of the process and can help to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new skin cells.
However, moisturizers can sometimes interfere with this process by creating a barrier that prevents the active ingredients in the medication from penetrating the skin effectively. For this reason, it is generally recommended to apply any medicated products first, allow them to absorb and dry before applying any other products, including moisturizers.
If you are experiencing excessive dryness or irritation while using these products, you may consider using RDL Whitening Cream with Moisturizer 25ml as the same barely interferes with the peeling process while moisturizes and brightens skin.

    1. After using rdl #3 how many days should I rest my skin before switching to rdl #1 as my maintenance?

    2. Hi,
It’s generally not recommended to use other acne treatments or pimple correctors at the same time as RDL #3 or any other skincare products that contain active ingredients such as hydroquinone and tretinoin.

RDL #3 is a combination of hydroquinone, tretinoin, and a topical steroid, and it’s typically used for the treatment of hyperpigmentation and melasma. Using other acne treatments or pimple correctors along with RDL #3 can increase the risk of skin irritation and other side effects, such as dryness, redness, and peeling.

However, if you still want to use a pimple corrector along with RDL #3, it’s important to space out the application of the two products. You can use RDL #3 at night and apply the pimple corrector in the morning, or vice versa. Be sure to follow the instructions on both products carefully, and stop using them if you experience any signs of irritation or sensitivity.

    1. Hello,
I would recommend stopping the use of RDL Babyface Solution 3 at least 2 weeks before starting to use RDL Babyface Solution 2. This will allow your skin time to adjust and recover from the higher concentration of active ingredients. During this break, you can use gentle and hydrating skincare products to nourish and soothe your skin such as RDL Babyface Cleanser 250ml, RDL Whitening Cream with Moisturizer 25ml and RDL Sunblock Cream SPF15 25ml.

Once you are ready to start using RDL Babyface Solution 2, you can gradually introduce it into your skincare routine by using it every other day for the first week or so, then increasing the frequency as tolerated. Remember to always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen during the day to protect your skin from further damage.

  18. Hello good day i’m using rdl # 2 month of december and start using rdl #3 i got more pimples and my face burn.. i use 3 bottles of rdl# 3 and 1 bottle of rdl #2 can you give me some advice because i’m using 2months more.thank you hope you can help me

    1. Hello,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing more pimples and burning on your face after switching to RDL #3. The correct way was to use RDL Babyface Solution No. 3 60ml then RDL Babyface Solution No. 2. Moreover, you shouldn’t use RDL 3 and 2 for more than 60 days in a row without giving your skin a break to recover.

Anyway, I can give you some general tips that may be helpful:

      1. Consider stopping the use of the RDL #3 product for now. it’s best to discontinue use and let your skin recover.
      2. Make sure you’re following a consistent skincare routine, including cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection. If you’re not already doing so, consider incorporating a gentle cleanser, a non-comedogenic moisturizer, and a broad-spectrum sunscreen into your routine.
      3. Finally, be patient with your skin. It can take time for acne to clear up, and it’s important to avoid over-exfoliating or using harsh products that can further irritate your skin.
      4. I hope this helps! If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to ask.

    2. Hello maam im using rdl #3 for about a week and most of the day mu face is red is that normal? When will stop?

    3. Hello Ilorah Marie Bergonia,

It’s possible that the redness on your face after using RDL #3 is a normal reaction, especially if you have sensitive skin. However, it’s also essential to consider the frequency of use and how long you leave the product on your skin.

You may want to try using RDL #3 at night only and observe if it reduces the redness during the day. It’s also important to use a sunscreen with a high SPF in the morning to protect your skin from further damage and minimize the redness.

    1. Hi,
Yes, you can use a sunscreen with an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 50. Sunscreens with higher SPFs provide a higher level of protection from harmful UV (ultraviolet) rays. An SPF of 50 means that it blocks 98% of UVB rays, which is the primary cause of sunburn.

It’s important to note that an SPF of 50 does not mean that you can stay in the sun 50 times longer than you would without sunscreen. The protection provided by sunscreen decreases as you sweat or swim, so it’s recommended to reapply every 2 hours, or immediately after swimming or sweating.

In addition to choosing a high SPF sunscreen, it’s also important to look for a broad-spectrum formula that provides protection from both UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are responsible for premature aging and skin damage, while UVB rays cause sunburn.

Remember, wearing sunscreen is just one aspect of sun protection. Other important steps include seeking shade, wearing protective clothing, and avoiding being outside during peak sun hours (10 am to 4 pm).

  20. Hi there,
I have the RDL #3 baby face.
I’ve got sunburn and tiny pimples in my face. Also I’m light skinned and I have a moisturized face. Is it advisable to use the RDL#3. Thank you

    1. Hi.
I have a lot of pimples and it leaves a deep scars. What RDL no. should i use? Thankyouu

    2. Hello! RDL Babyface No. 3 is specifically formulated for oily and acne-prone skin, and can be a good option for treating pimples and acne scars. It contains tretinoin, which helps to exfoliate the skin and promote cell turnover, as well as hydroquinone, which helps to unclog pores and bleach dark skin.

Before using any new skincare product, it’s important to do a patch test on a small area of skin to ensure that you don’t have an allergic reaction or experience any irritation.

If you decide to try RDL Babyface No. 3, it’s important to follow the instructions carefully and start with a small amount to see how your skin reacts. It’s also important to use a sunscreen during the day to protect your skin from further damage and hyperpigmentation.

Remember that treating acne and acne scars takes time and patience, so it’s important to stick to a consistent skincare routine and be gentle with your skin.

    1. Good evening! It is not recommended to mix hydroquinone and tretinoin with glycerin and rose water.

Hydroquinone and tretinoin are powerful active ingredients used to treat skin conditions such as hyperpigmentation, acne, and fine lines, but they can be harsh on the skin and may cause irritation, dryness, and redness.

Glycerin and rose water are gentle ingredients that can help moisturize and soothe the skin, but they may also dilute the potency of the hydroquinone and tretinoin solution, making it less effective.
