Milan Fashion Week 2021: 7 Eye-Catching Beauty Trends

Milan Fashion Week is off to a good start. The packed schedule started on Wednesday, February 24. According to Vogue, the “digitally focused” event began with Italian fashion houses Missoni, Alberta Ferreti and Fendi. As reported by CNN, Missoni set the tone with their star-studded film entitled, “Jungle Red.”

Their new designs were showcased by models and celebrities like Hailey Beiber, Stella Maxwell, Winnie Harlow and Soo Joo Park. Thursday audiences saw Max Mara, Bluemarine, Prada, Moschino and Emporio Armani. While smudged black eyeliner took over New York Fashion Week and dramatic blush ruled in London, the makeup from Milan is more understated. Allure lists the best beauty looks from Milan Fashion Week.

Max Mara

Models from the Max Mara fashion show sported smokey eyes. Instead of the usual gray and black tones, olive green was the color of the day. The neutral green shade was paired with bold, well-groomed eyebrows and barely-there mascara. The cheeks were free of blush and the lips were just coated with lip balm.

Prada’s hairstylist Guido Palau went with slicked-back hair for their models. The front and middle part were brushed back while the sides were left to hang in their natural texture with just a little product to keep them in place. Dame Pat McGrath went metallic on the eyelids with shades of gold and silver.

Bluemarine

Bluemarine models were seen with minimal makeup. Instead, makeup artist Inge Grognard went with body jewelry. She designed butterflies out of crystals and placed them on the models’ arms and chest. This can be easily replicated at home with body rhinestone stickers.

Moschino

Aside from their “Jungle Red” segment, Moschino stood out from the neutral makeup looks with body paint. Makeup artist Kabuki used bold strokes of greens and blues on the models’ face and arms for the museum setting of one segment of the show.

Alberta Ferretti

Guido Palau also did the hair for Fendi. While he kept things simpler for Prada, he went for eye-catching cornrow buns for Fendi. The hairstyle looked stunning against Fendi’s luxe designs and accessories. Makeup artist Peter Philips kept the makeup classic with fresh, glowing skin and thick, bold brows.

There are still four days to go for Milan Fashion Week. Fashionistas can still catch big Italian fashion houses like Etro, Marni, Giorgio Armani, Ferragamo and Pucci. Italian legends Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana will close out the week on Monday, March 1.
