How to Use Fluocinonide Cream
- Wash and dry your hands before applying the cream, then clean and dry the affected area.
- Apply a small quantity of the cream to the affected area and gently rub in, usually 1 to 3 times daily. Do not cover, bandage, or wrap the area unless it is required.
- After applying the cream, wash your hands unless you are using this cream to treat the hands. If applying this cream near the eyes, avoid getting it in the eyes as this may worsen. Also, avoid getting this cream in the nose or mouth. If you get the medication in these areas, rinse with plenty of water.
How Long to Use Fluocinonide
Do not use it for longer than 2 weeks in a row or use more than 60 grams per week unless necessary.
Fluocinonide Side Effects
Few people experience side effects when using this cream. However, you might experience side effects such as severe redness, itching, dryness, stinging or burning which should subside gradually as your skin adjusts to the cream. If these side effects don’t disappear over time or get worse; contact your skin specialist.
